Wed, 5 December 2007 ![]() What is a podcast? A podcast is an Internet audio or video show that users can subscribe to via Really Simple Syndication (RSS). But I don't own an iPod. One doesn't need to own an iPod to subscribe to a podcast. Users can subscribe to a podcast using an aggregator such as Itunes or Juice. You can also visit Podcastready or Podcast Pickle, where you can create a free account to subscribe and listen to any number of podcasts. Can't I just download the audio file from the web site? Sure. But that requires you having to remember to visit the web site to see if there are any new shows. Subscribing to the podcast's feed pushes the new content to your aggregator. This stuff is neat. Where can I find more podcasts? Visit Podshow, Adam Curry's Daily Source Code, and/or Podcast Alley. Mmm... need more information... Then visit wikipedia's entry for Podcast or visit Itunes. Or just Google "what is a podcast" and go crazy. Category: help -- posted at: 9:16 PM Comments[0] |
